Sophie Gardiner, a British-American rising senior at UCLA, is a vital member of the Larhdel Law team, serving as the welcoming face and initial point of contact for new clients. Her role involves directly assisting attorneys by managing initial inquiries, gathering essential client information, and ensuring a seamless introduction to the firm. This client-centered approach underscores Larhdel Law's commitment to transparency and service, with Sophie playing a crucial part in client satisfaction and firm representation.
Her academic foundation, a UCLA International Development Studies major (3.76 GPA), allows her to study, analyze, and critically assess the social, political and economic forces that, throughout history, have shaped inequality in the modern world. This academic background provides a unique lens for her interest in international advocacy, social justice, women’s rights, and climate health, directly relating to her aspirations for a career in law. Prior to Larhdel Law, Sophie gained practical legal experience as a Law Clerk, where she skillfully completed legal documents—including Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, client intake forms, settlement packages, and various court filings—to support case progression. Sophie also excelled in client communication, directly interacting with clients to gather information, provide updates, and ensure timely submission of legal materials. Her ability to collaborate closely with attorneys to meet critical court deadlines and maintain organized case files further underscores her practical legal acumen.
Sophie's commitment to advocacy extends beyond her legal work. As Delegate and Director of Sexual Assault Prevention for Alpha Phi International Fraternity, she delivered educational presentations on bystander intervention and sexual violence prevention to campus organizations. Additionally, she proactively partnered with campus and intercollegiate stakeholders to report, address, and mitigate sexual assault issues.
She also spearheaded the Young Voter Registration Initiative with the TurnUp youth social activism app, successfully registering over 1,500 young adults, and aided in lobbying and passing bill AB101, mandating Diversity and Ethnic Studies classes in Las Virgenes Unified School District high schools.
With strong legal writing, research, and client care skills, complemented by basic Mandarin proficiency, Sophie is dedicated to professional integrity and academic rigor, evidenced by her UCLA Pre-Law Society involvement and CITI Certification in educational research ethics. At Larhdel Law, she is proud to contribute her organizational acuity, advocacy experience, and client-centered approach, aligning with the firm's approach of combining professional excellence with genuine care to making a meaningful difference through the law.
