Natalia V. Casillas is a recent graduate of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she earned her B.A. in Global Studies. Her academic work focused on international affairs, immigration, and U.S.-Mexico relations, culminating in an undergraduate thesis examining U.S.-Mexico immigration policy and transnational remittance flows.
As a member of the legal support team at Larhdel Law, Natalia assists attorneys with case preparation, drafting legal correspondence and documents, client intake, and active case management. She regularly communicates with prospective and current clients, conducts intake and follow-up calls, maintains confidential client records, and assists in preparing materials for immigration applications and petitions.
Fluent in both English and Spanish, Natalia provides interpretation and translation between attorneys and Spanish-speaking clients, helping ensure that clients clearly understand legal processes and case-related information. Her bilingual background, experience working with immigrant communities, and longstanding connection to both the United States and Mexico have shaped her interest in immigration and international law.
Prior to joining Larhdel Law, Natalia gained experience in government and public service through positions with the California State Assembly and the County of San Diego. As a legislative intern for Assemblymember Jesse Gabriel, she assisted constituents with state services and district casework, drafted official correspondence and memoranda, and supported community outreach initiatives. Previously, as a Student Fellow in the Office of San Diego County Chairwoman Nora Vargas, she conducted policy research, drafted policy briefs and memoranda, represented the office at community events, and assisted constituents throughout the district.
Natalia has also pursued international experience related to human rights and global governance. During UCLA’s Global Governance of International Human Rights program in The Hague, Netherlands, she observed proceedings at the International Criminal Court and International Court of Justice and conducted independent research on femicide in Mexico. She has additional international experience as a Spanish-English translator and interpreter in Mexico City.
Committed to public service and cross-cultural advocacy, Natalia has also served as a volunteer leader with Tijuana Sin Hambre, coordinating efforts supporting underserved families across Tijuana and San Diego.
Natalia plans to pursue a legal career centered on immigration, international law, and advocacy. She is particularly interested in using her bilingual abilities, international perspective, and experience working directly with clients and communities to expand access to legal services and support individuals navigating complex legal systems.
